BEFORE YOU BUY THE LISTING

Have you ever found the exact item in Japan, then realized the listing was not enough?

The photos looked promising.

But condition, size, completeness, odor, version, seller rules, or hidden damage may not be obvious from the listing.

The seller description was thin.

Machine translation may flatten Japanese caution notes, domestic-only limitations, return exclusions, or condition language.

The platform did not support overseas buyers.

Payment, domestic delivery, account rules, or seller preferences can block foreign buyers even when the item itself is available.

You needed a safer purchase path.

Before money moves, you wanted Japan-side questions, basic checks, and a controlled handoff instead of blind checkout.

FOUND ITEM PURCHASE PROTECTION

You found it. Now the purchase path needs protection.

A Japan-side listing can feel close enough to buy, but the real risk may sit inside seller communication, condition ambiguity, platform restrictions, domestic delivery, and handoff planning.

JapanSolved™ helps foreign buyers review and route found-item purchase requests before payment, receiving, inspection, storage, or logistics become difficult to unwind.

WHAT THIS DESK IS FOR

This is the shield for an item you already found.

The Japan Private Deputy Shopping Proxy & Quality Assurance Desk™ is for cases where the buyer already has a listing, seller, shop, or target item and needs Japan-side purchase protection. It is not full sourcing, full authentication, or cargo execution.

Listing Review

We review visible listing details, seller notes, photos, price, domestic rules, and obvious red flags before treating the item as safe to purchase.

Seller Questions

Where appropriate, we help clarify condition, availability, completeness, packaging, domestic delivery, and seller limitations.

Purchase Handoff

If viable, the case may move toward proxy purchase, receiving, inspection photos, storage, service routing, cargo planning, or export handoff.

WHY THIS IS DIFFICULT IN JAPAN

The item is visible. The purchase risk is not.

Foreign buyers often see the product before they understand the seller, language, platform, condition, payment, return, receiving, or handoff risk. Proxy QA keeps a found-item request from pretending to be safer than it is.

PURCHASE LANES WE CAN TRIAGE

Not every found item should be bought the same way.

Fragile Japanese collectibles

Textiles, prints, lacquer, ceramics, tea objects, dolls, masks, craft, small antiques, and display pieces may need condition questions before payment.

Luxury and limited goods

Watches, fashion archives, boutique items, designer objects, and Japan-only releases may require availability checks, purchase timing, or service-path awareness.

Platform or seller-restricted items

Domestic-only listings, Japanese marketplace rules, seller preferences, and payment friction can require a local purchase route.

Items with identity claims

If value depends on maker, age, signature, box, provenance, or attribution, the case may need Authentication & Provenance before purchase.

Items that may be hard to move

Large, fragile, heavy, or awkward objects may require Cargo Feasibility before purchase.

Simple found-item purchases

For straightforward purchases, the desk can still help organize the route, payment door, receiving logic, and intake record.

WHAT JAPANSOLVED™ REVIEWS

We help turn a found listing into a responsible purchase path.

Purchase Risk Review

We classify seller, listing, condition, payment, domestic receiving, timing, and handoff risk.

QA Routing

We identify whether the case can proceed as proxy purchase, needs seller questions, or should escalate to another desk.

Handoff Planning

We help determine whether the item needs receiving, inspection photos, service routing, storage, cargo, or export planning.

RED FLAGS WE LOOK FOR

The warning signs are often buried in the listing machinery.

Condition ambiguity

Cropped photos, vague wear notes, missing parts, odor, stains, cracks, revisions, repairs, or “junk” language that changes value.

Seller and platform friction

Domestic-only rules, no returns, payment limitations, shipping exclusions, account restrictions, delayed replies, or unclear seller identity.

Scope mismatch

Requests that look like proxy shopping but actually require authentication, sourcing, private buyer execution, cargo, compliance, or service-center support.

Handoff risk

Fragile packing, wrong destination path, no inspection opportunity, storage gaps, or movement needs that were not considered before purchase.

WHO THIS IS FOR

For buyers who found the item but do not want to buy blind.

This service is designed for foreign buyers, collectors, designers, families, businesses, and private clients considering a Japan-side listing, seller, auction, shop, or marketplace item that needs practical review before purchase or handoff.

HOW THE REVIEW WORKS

Before purchase, the listing path is classified.

Submit the listing and seller details

Share the URL, screenshots, seller name, price, photos, item notes, destination, deadline, and what you need JapanSolved™ to do.

We review the purchase risk

We classify visible condition, seller rules, platform limitations, domestic shipping, payment route, item sensitivity, and likely next step.

We identify the protection path

This may involve seller questions, proxy purchase, authentication routing, private buyer execution, service routing, cargo review, or a decline recommendation.

You receive the next-step route

The baseline review clarifies whether to proceed, pause, request more proof, purchase, escalate, or quote deeper coordination.

BASELINE REVIEW VS. DEEPER COORDINATION

The first review protects the decision. Deeper coordination protects the transaction.

Listing Safety Check

A first-pass review of one found item, seller path, visible details, and purchase risk.

Proxy Purchase Coordination

If viable, we may quote purchase handling, seller communication, receiving, inspection photos, or domestic handoff.

Escalation Routing

High-value, fragile, regulated, or identity-dependent items may require Authentication, Private Buyer, Cargo, or Compliance support.

Trust note: A responsible proxy review may say buy, pause, ask more questions, route to another desk, or walk away. Finding a listing is not the same as having a safe purchase path.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

A practical purchase path before the listing becomes a commitment.

  • Initial listing, seller, price, and platform review
  • Visible condition and seller-language concern notes
  • Purchase route and domestic receiving risk notes
  • Recommended next step: proceed, pause, ask, escalate, quote, or decline
  • Related desk routing where authentication, private buyer, cargo, servicing, compliance, or sourcing is more appropriate
  • Expanded quote direction if purchase handling or local coordination is required
Pricing note: The matching product page will show the baseline review fee in USD. Applicable taxes are calculated at checkout, including Japan’s local 10% consumption tax where applicable. Expanded coordination, third-party costs, travel, pickup, storage, packing, compliance, logistics, specialist review, or ongoing representation may be quoted separately after the baseline review.
Boundary note: JapanSolved™ does not guarantee seller cooperation, item availability, authenticity, market value, export approval, carrier acceptance, customs clearance, delivery timelines, or final third-party vendor pricing. We help organize the Japan-side review pathway and coordinate responsible next steps where appropriate.

PRICING GUIDE & PAYMENT PATH

Begin with a paid listing safety review, then escalate only when the purchase deserves deeper handling.

Most clients start with the baseline listing safety check. If the item requires seller communication, proxy purchase, domestic receiving, inspection photos, service routing, logistics, or authentication review, we quote the expanded scope after the first file review.

Payment principle: We do not open a formal case file from a casual message alone. Payment secures the review slot; the intake form creates the case file; deeper scopes are quoted only after the object, seller, documents, photos, timeline, route, and objective are understood.
Start here: baseline review

Best default path: purchase the baseline review first. This is the cleanest entry point for one request, one object, one seller path, or one decision file.

Use the escalation deposit when the case is urgent, high-value, fragile, regulated, time-sensitive, operationally complex, or already close to purchase or movement.

Expanded review and coordination pricing

From $1,500
For higher-value, fragile, urgent, or multi-step purchases requiring added confirmation and handoff planning.

Authentication / Cargo Escalation™

For objects whose value, fragility, legality, or movement risk requires another JapanSolved™ desk before purchase.

Quote note: Expanded work may involve third-party expert fees, translator fees, vendor fees, pickup, storage, packing, domestic delivery, freight, export preparation, insurance, service-center charges, customs brokerage, or other external costs. These are quoted separately when relevant.

PAYMENT FIRST, CASE FILE SECOND

The checkout captures commitment. The intake captures the evidence.

Choose the right payment door

Most buyers purchase the $295 proxy shopping review. Urgent or complex cases may secure a case deposit.

Checkout creates the paid review record

The order reference anchors the case. Use the same email for checkout and intake.

Intake opens the listing file

After payment, submit URLs, screenshots, seller details, price, destination, and what you need checked.

We classify and quote the next path

The review may lead to proxy purchase, seller questions, escalation, or a recommendation to pause.

Operational note: The intake form should require the payment reference and secure checkout email. This keeps unpaid routing notes, paid reviews, deposits, retainers, expanded quotes, and vendor scopes from becoming mixed together.

SERVICE PAYMENT PATHS

Choose the right payment door before opening the intake file.

The baseline proxy review is the cleanest starting point for a found listing. Use a deposit or retainer only when the case already requires urgent purchase action, ongoing support, or higher-touch Japan-side handling.

Payment path note: If you are unsure which route applies, begin with the baseline review. If the file shows urgency, value, seller complexity, compliance risk, logistics risk, or ongoing needs, JapanSolved™ may recommend a deposit, retainer, specialist review, logistics fee, or separate quote before proceeding.

BEGIN WITH THE LISTING REVIEW

Before you buy the listing, let the purchase path become visible.

Secure the appropriate JapanSolved™ review or deposit before the item becomes harder to unwind. After secure checkout, complete the intake with listing details, seller information, photos, price, destination, and your intended outcome.

Proxy Shopping QA Intake Form

This intake form is for clients preparing or completing a paid proxy shopping review, proxy purchase case deposit, retainer intake, or routed quote for this specific JapanSolved™ service. Please include your payment reference, secure checkout email, listing URL, screenshots, seller name, platform, price, item photos, visible condition notes, destination country, deadline, and the exact purchase-path question you need answered.

If payment has not yet been completed, your submission may be used for routing reference only. JapanSolved™ will not begin review, onboarding, seller questions, purchase handling, or case classification until the correct review fee, deposit, retainer, invoice, or private payment has been completed.

If the request is not actually a found-listing QA matter, we may route it to a different desk: Private Sourcing when the item has not been found yet, Private Buyer when local execution is required, Authentication & Provenance when identity or proof controls the value, or Cargo when movement risk controls the decision.

FAQ

Common questions before a found listing becomes a purchase.

These notes define the difference between Proxy QA and neighboring desks. This page is for a listing, seller, shop item, or auction lot the client has already found. It protects the purchase decision before the file becomes sourcing, private buyer execution, authentication, cargo, or compliance work.

01

Should I submit the intake form before paying?

The intended order is payment first, case file second. Purchase the proxy shopping review or secure the appropriate deposit, then use the intake form to submit the listing, seller details, screenshots, price, deadline, destination, and the purchase question you need answered. Unpaid submissions may be treated as routing reference only.

02

How is Proxy QA different from the Private Buyer Desk?

Proxy QA starts with a found item and protects the listing review: condition ambiguity, seller wording, platform rules, domestic receiving, and basic purchase-path risk. Private Buyer is the higher-touch execution desk when someone must actively communicate, negotiate, reserve, purchase, pick up, receive, or coordinate a local handoff in Japan.

03

How is this different from Private Sourcing?

Private Sourcing is for clients who have not yet found the right target and need Japan-side search logic. Proxy QA is for a listing or seller path already in hand. If the file begins with “please find one,” it belongs to sourcing. If it begins with “is this listing safe to pursue,” it belongs here.

04

What should I prepare for the intake form?

Please prepare the checkout email, payment reference, listing URL, screenshots, seller or shop name, platform, item price, photos, condition notes, dimensions, destination country, deadline, and your desired action: listing review, seller questions, purchase route, proxy purchase, receiving, inspection photos, or escalation routing.

05

Can JapanSolved™ guarantee the listing condition or authenticity?

No. JapanSolved™ can review visible materials, flag risk, organize seller questions, and route the case, but a listing review does not guarantee authenticity, condition, value, seller honesty, item completeness, export approval, or final buyer satisfaction. Objects with identity, maker, age, signature, certificate, or provenance issues may need the Authentication & Provenance desk.

06

Does this include shipping, export, customs, or cargo execution?

No. The baseline proxy review does not include pickup, packing, freight, customs, export filings, insurance, storage, carrier coordination, or cargo execution. If the item is large, fragile, heavy, regulated, service-sensitive, or difficult to move, the file may need a separate logistics, compliance, or private buyer path before purchase.

07

What if the listing is urgent or may sell quickly?

Urgency does not remove risk. If the seller deadline is tight, JapanSolved™ may recommend a proxy purchase case deposit or decline to proceed if there is not enough time to ask responsible questions. A fast listing can still be a bad purchase path.

08

Can you guarantee seller cooperation or item availability?

No. Sellers may remove listings, reject foreign-facing support, refuse questions, change prices, sell to another buyer, cancel orders, limit domestic delivery, or stop replying. Seller cooperation and item availability are never guaranteed.

09

Can you ask the seller questions?

Basic seller-question routing may be recommended after review, but seller communication is not unlimited and may require a separate quote or deposit. Questions may cover condition, completeness, measurements, availability, domestic delivery, packaging, pickup, and whether the seller accepts the proposed purchase path.

10

Can JapanSolved™ purchase the item for me?

Potentially, but purchase handling is not automatically included in the baseline review. If the listing is viable, JapanSolved™ may quote proxy purchase coordination, purchase funds handling, receiving, inspection photos, domestic redelivery, or a Private Buyer execution path depending on complexity.

11

What platforms or seller types can this apply to?

This can apply to Japanese marketplace listings, auction pages, shop pages, dealer listings, domestic-only sellers, resale platforms, limited-release opportunities, and seller-direct item pages. Platform rules, payment options, domestic delivery, seller language, and cancellation risk vary by case.

12

Are third-party costs included?

No. Purchase price, platform fees, domestic shipping, pickup, storage, packing, insurance, freight, customs support, service-center charges, specialist review, translation, photography, and outside vendor fees are separate unless a written quote clearly includes them.

13

What if the item is a luxury good, watch, fashion archive, or limited release?

The file can begin here if the item is already found and the question is listing safety, seller terms, or purchase path. If boutique access, appointment handling, verification, aftercare, warranty routing, or local representation becomes central, the case may route to Ginza Luxury Shopping, Preloved Luxury, Watch Servicing, or Private Buyer support.

14

What if the item is art, antique, Buddhist, sword-related, or culturally sensitive?

If value or legality depends on provenance, age, maker, certification, cultural-property sensitivity, sword law, temple-adjacent history, or ethical-source concerns, a simple proxy review may not be enough. The case may need Authentication & Provenance, Sword Compliance, or a specialist review before purchase.

15

What if the item is large, fragile, heavy, or awkward to move?

The review may flag movement risk before purchase. Large furniture, framed art, ceramics, machinery, instruments, display objects, delicate antiques, or fragile collectibles may require cargo feasibility, packing strategy, pickup planning, storage, or a separate logistics quote before payment.

16

Can this support low-value or simple purchases?

Sometimes, but the service fee must make sense relative to the item value and risk. For very low-value items, the review may cost more than the practical benefit. This desk is strongest when listing risk, seller friction, condition uncertainty, purchase route, or handoff quality matters.

17

What if I already bought the item?

The file may still be reviewed, but options can shrink after payment, seller deadline, platform finality, domestic shipment, pickup, or custody transfer. Already-purchased items may need dispute routing, receiving coordination, inspection photos, storage, export review, servicing, or logistics support rather than purchase QA alone.

18

What happens if I submit the form without payment?

The submission may be kept as routing reference only. JapanSolved™ will not begin review, onboarding, seller questions, purchase handling, case classification, or vendor coordination until the correct review fee, deposit, retainer, invoice, or private payment has been completed.

RELATED JAPANSOLVED™ DESKS

Proxy QA protects a found listing. Other desks take over when the problem is bigger than the listing.

This page is deliberately narrower than sourcing or private buyer execution. Use it when the item is already found and the buyer needs listing review, seller-question routing, purchase-path caution, or basic handoff planning before payment.

Route note: Proxy QA protects a found listing. Private Sourcing finds targets that do not yet exist in the file. Private Buyer acts locally when seller communication, purchase execution, pickup, custody, or field representation is needed. Authentication & Provenance checks object claims. Cultural Asset Intelligence decides whether the category deserves pursuit. Cargo / Logistics handles hard movement after the purchase path is safe enough to continue.
